Over the years, many celebrated Ghanaian musicians have changed their names to either Suite their act or to position themselves for the international market as names are impactful on success or otherwise of an art. Change of name is seen as a strategic way to reposition an artiste brand and to stay afresh in the minds and on the lips of patrons and fans – Afro-Pop/Reggae artiste Luther in the same vain has rebranded from Luther to LUTA.
In an interview with LUTA, he said “I’m a different person now. Though people know me very well with the former brand and label name Luther (LuuGang), I have developed significantly and my team and I are bringing a lot to corporate Ghana and various stakeholders in the entertainment industry locally and internationally. Luta noted that, his new name takes effect from January 16, 2018 of which the public is urged to note.
The change of names have impacted the career of arts in the past positively and we wish Luta all the best as he dares to make this move in the quest to open up his prospects to the world. Bandana changed name to Shatta Wale, Abortion to Coded, Batman to Samini, Ayigbe Edem to Edem, Jane Awindor to Efya, Daddy Lumba to DL, Christiana Love to Obaapa Christy, Keche De and Keche Pa to Keche Joshua and Keche Andrew, Papa Virus/PV to Wutah Afriyie – Afriyie, Gogomi to Mugeez, Lazy to Zeal and now new entrant Luther now Luta.
